The Accountant is responsible for supporting the Controller in all areas relating to financial reporting, including entering, processing and recording daily business accounting transactions. This position is responsible for assisting in developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. This position will work within tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and budget/forecast activities. This position will directly support and guide the Controller with all aspects of the position, including contact with senior-level advisers, accounting firm and senior management.

The essential functions of the position are:

• Assist in obtaining and maintaining a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
• Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.
• Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.
• Assist the accounting team in processing daily banking requirements.
• Ensure the accurate and timely processing of positive pay transactions.
• Ensure the monthly and quarterly Bank Compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner.
• Support budget and forecasting activities.
• Collaborate with the other accounting and finance department team members to support overall department goals and objectives.
• Assist in developing more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
• Respond to inquiries from other managers as directed regarding financial results, special reporting requests and the like.
• Perform work along with accounting team to ensure a clean and timely year end audit.
• Assist in performing general ledger tasks to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
• Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow within the department.
• Provide training and guidance to new and existing staff as needed.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.

Experience with Orchestrated Software based accounting system on SAP B1 platform (OBeer) or other applicable system required to be successful in this position.
